Check out how to take a free plumbing course and learn a new profession for times of crisis or for extra income.
I never imagined that one day I would be interested in plumbing. Really.
I always thought this was something for professionals with years of experience and tools that you can only find in specialized stores.
But you know how life is, right? A pipe bursts at home, you try to find a way to fix it and… you discover a new world.
That's more or less how my story with online plumbing courses began.
At the time, I had just moved into an old apartment and of course, problems started to appear.
Clogged sink, dripping shower, hidden leak in the wall… Every week was a new challenge.
I was already spending a good amount of money on services that, honestly, seemed simple.
And that's when I thought: “Can't I just learn the basics and do it on my own?”
I went looking for information and ended up discovering a series of online plumbing courses, many of them free or at a super affordable price.
I decided to take a chance and enrolled in an introductory course. And, look, it was one of the best decisions I've made in recent times!
So, without wasting any more time, check out more about the free plumbing course!
What do you learn in an online plumbing course?
If you think it's just a matter of learning how to change a siphon or seal a tap, you're wrong.
The courses are super complete and range from the simplest concepts to more advanced techniques, such as:
- Types of piping (PVC, copper, PEX, CPVC, etc.)
- Plumbing installation techniques in kitchens and bathrooms
- How to identify and resolve leaks
- Installation of showers, taps, valves and valves
- Reading and interpreting hydraulic plans
- Safety standards and use of PPE
- And even notions of budgeting and customer service (for those who want to work in the area)
And best of all: in your time, at your pace. No rushing to avoid missing class, dealing with traffic or worrying about what to wear.
I studied from the couch at home, with my cell phone or notebook.
Some courses even offered certificates, which is very helpful if you want to work in this field professionally.
Platforms I recommend (for real!)
After doing a lot of research, I found some platforms that offer quality courses:
- Udemy: This is where I took my first course. There are a lot of options, with well-explained video classes and lifetime access.
- SENAI: In some regions, SENAI offers free or affordable courses. It's definitely worth it.
- EduK: Ideal for those who want to start with the basics and also learn other areas of home maintenance.
- YouTube: It's not exactly a structured course, but it has LOTS of helpful videos from experienced plumbers.
In fact, I know a man who, after retiring, decided to take an online course and now serves the entire neighborhood.
He himself said: “I never imagined I would learn so much just with my cell phone in my hand!”
Advantages of learning plumbing online
For me, the biggest benefits were:
- Economy: I no longer need to pay for simple services.
- Autonomy: I feel confident to solve small problems at home.
- Possibility of extra income: I've done some odd jobs helping friends and relatives.
- Useful knowledge for life: it is a skill that will always be necessary.
And you don't need to be an expert to get started.
The courses are designed specifically for beginners and explain everything in a didactic way, with practical examples, step-by-step instructions and support from teachers.
Is it worth taking an online plumbing course?
If you like to get your hands dirty, want to learn something new and useful or even think about a new profession, I say with all certainty: It's VERY worth it.
You don't need to have previous experience, just a little curiosity, a desire to learn and a cell phone with internet.
Learning plumbing not only helped me save money, it also made me realize how good it is to master skills that make life easier.
And who knows, maybe one day you too will become “the family plumber”? 😉
